Yet Another Thought about Sarah Palin

***
M LeBlanc raises some interesting points about Sarah Palin over at her blog, Bitch PhD.

I'll be honest: if Sarah Palin was a fiercely pro-choice progressive, mother of five kids, who'd risen from mayor of a small town to democratic governor of her sparsely populated state, I'd be kind of in love with her. Wouldn't you? And wouldn't you, although a little hesitant, be excited about her having been selected as Obama's vice-president?

Yeah. OK. Maybe... I think THIS goes a little over the top though...

I think we all would, and we'd be fighting tooth and nail anybody who wanted to use her pregnant daughter as a political football.

Sigh.

If Gov. Palin was announcing her daughter's pregnancy to dispel the internet rumors concerning who was Trig's biological mother, there may have been an alternative that would have preserved her daughter's privacy.

Gov. Palin could have released her medical records to dispell the rumors and that would have kept her daughter's pregnancy out of the news.

I agree that using a candidate's son or daughter as a political football is an inappropriate action for either candidate's campaign.

I just wish Gov. Palin had followed this advice as well.
